Landmarks are important major semantic sections of a webpage. For accessibility and correct behavior of CDS, you must use landmarks appropriately when building new page templates.

On any page template, you must include the following landmarks

  • Header
  • Navigation (within the header)
  • Main Content Area
  • Footer

You may also include the following landmarks within the Main Content area when appropriate.

  • Aside
  • Section (if given an explicit aria-label)
